The Fly Fishing Film Tour Is Coming to Chagford… Don’t Miss It
Let’s be honest… opportunities like this don’t come around very often.
On Friday 24th April, the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T), now in its 20th Anniversary year, rolls into Chagford. And if you’re even vaguely interested in rivers, fishing, or just a good evening in excellent company… this is one worth getting in the diary.
For a small, volunteer-led catchment association from Devon, that’s no small thing. And yes - we’re rather proud of it…
A proper night out… with a fishing twist
This isn’t just a screening of short fishing films. It’s a room full of like-minded people. Anglers, river volunteers, friends, familiar faces and hopefully a few new ones too. The sort of evening where conversations start before the films and carry on long after they’ve finished.
I’m sure there’ll be a few laughs. There’ll be stories. There’ll almost certainly be a moment where you convince yourself that an early start the next morning to go fishing is a very good idea! And yes… the well-stocked bar at the Globe is only downstairs, which tends to help any atmosphere along nicely.
The films themselves are world-class. Big rivers. Remote places. Beautifully shot sequences. Sights that make you sit up slightly straighter in your chair. Even if you’ve never picked up a fly rod, they’re worth watching.
And if you have… I’m sure you’ll leave wanting to go fishing.
More reasons to come along
As if the films and the atmosphere weren’t enough, there’s a bit more going on this year:
🎁 Merchandise handed out on the night
🎟️ Every ticket is entered into a national prize draw with over £40,000 worth of prizes up for grabs
You could quite easily walk in for a film night and walk out with something pretty special if your ticket lands!
For us at TACA, this is something to be proud of. As an official supporting partner on the 20th Anniversary Tour, this event puts Chagford and the wider Teign catchment firmly on the national schedule and the UK Fly Fishing map.
From Devon… to a global fly fishing audience.
And it’s all happening right here, in a pub, luckily with a cinema room upstairs. You couldn’t really make this up!
Get your ticket before they go…
This is one of those evenings that works best when the room is full. A good crowd. A bit of noise from the usual hecklers and above all, a shared experience.
So if you’re thinking about coming along… don’t leave it too late.

One last thing…
You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to be a seasoned angler. You just need to enjoy water, fish, stories, and a good evening out.
Because that’s what this is - And it’s happening right here on our doorstep.
